In 2006 She Hardly Had Hair and Couldn't Stand; I Have No Idea What Happened to 2009

Christmas 2007.

Christmas 2008.
Christmas 2010.
Sometimes I think everything is magic. The way the sun rises, sets, the postal system, how incredibly cruel we can all be to each other, how kind, universes contained in something as sick as spit. (Other times I don't think like this at all since it would be too time consuming and The Real Housewives keeps my mind occupied just so.) But this time of year? At Christmas? It's all pure magic. The presents and pasts, pajamas. I remember creeping into my brother's room on Christmas morning, how we would wait as long as we could together, the two of us in his bed while down the hallway the two of them who knew the truth just wanted to sleep. This year Zoey is getting a zsu zsu pet, a Rapunzel doll, art supplies and a microphone, but she is also getting someone to wait with, a brother, the most magical thing of them all.
(Yesterday I took Zoey with me to get my blood drawn, two of a thousand vials they take when you are pregnant. As they inserted the needle Zoey asked me why I wasn't laying down, shouldn't I lay down? No, I said, I can just sit here, and her eyes got wide. When it was over and I put on my coat to leave, Zoey asked why we were leaving without the baby and I realized that she thought we were going to the hospital to have the baby. Seems I have some 'splaining to do.)
Merry merry everyone. May it be magical.
xo,
S

Thos pictures of Z are just beautiful.

Am I too late to weigh in on boys' names? (your husband has one of my favorite boys' names!) Does your brother have a good name? How about his middle name?
I like:
Mitch
Christophe (but people might always misread it as Christopher, which is a totally different name, and not nearly as good)
Oliver
Penn
Ian
Riley
Bock
Forest
Eric
Angus

Merry Christmas!! NUTELLA For everyone!

Love that set of Christmas captures!
Too cute.

Wouldn't it be nice if giving birth were as easy as giving blood. :)

I know this isnt the "baby name" blog but it could be the "brother and sister" blog so with that said I just wanted to add that I think Zoey and Vale sound really pretty together.I know that Zoey means life and I looked up Vale and found several different meanings:
1.Valley,usually with a stream.
2.Lives in the Valley.
3.One who is strong and healthy.
All of these are good and put together with Zoey sound even better.Such as "Life in the Valley, with a stream" or "One who is strong and healthy in life".Also,Vale is a cool sounding name without sounding too pretentious or trendy.Hes the guy that everyone likes but he also likes everyone. The popular kids want him to be a part of their crowd but he doesnt care,he wants to be a part of every group but not belong to just one.Plus,it has just that right combination of masculinity to sound strong with a hint of feminity to be sweet.A very good balance I think.O.k. thats my final contribution to the name picking blog.I just felt compelled to write this because after I wrote my suggestions the first time I just kept thinking that "Vale"was the one and I wanted to say more.Anyways,im sure you will come up with a great name either from a suggestion or on your own,and whichever name you choose will be great, however all that really matters is that he is healthy, strong and full of life.
