Start the Week Off Right

Crazy busy weekend worthy of a looong post complete with photos galore. Sadly I don't have time right now but here's a quick vid to tide you all over. (The blogosphere will rue the day I learned how to operate the video function on my camera!)

Giggles and swings, even a snort thrown in for good measure. Happy Monday!

Precious, precious, precious. Oh, the sound of a giggling child just makes the world a MUCH better place, don't you think?

So great. Your kid is a knockout.
Love your blog (cannot remember how I came across it, but I check it regularly now).
Question for you: am expecting a girl in October and actually was considering "Zoe" as a name, but also, "Suzanne" at least for a middle name (after my mom). I also like Susannah. As a Susannah, do you get lots of people calling you "Sue" and "Susie"? And how do you feel about that? Would love your thoughts.

~M--To answer your questions: Growing up, my parents made it clear that my name is Susannah and NOT to let anyone call me Sue, Susie, SusyQ, etc. And I'm glad they did. No one calls me those names! :) Although people who don't know me very well certainly try to call me Suzanne or whatever. I just very nicely tell them, no, it's Susannah. And of course I am VERY partial to the name Zoe(y). I'm sure you already know this but it means "life."

I Heart You: I am like the Amway of Motherhood, trying to get everyone to join because it's just so darn awesome! Do it! Get knocked up! (Because if you do then I am moved up a notch on the mommy pyramid program and I get free diaper rash paste, that's how it works.)

To All Else--that you for indulging my giggle-vid. Hope it made you smile :)

Yep. That's the appeal of "Zoe" for me, Greek (I just love the culture, from what I've experienced) and the meaning. Perfect. Have you come across a lot of Zoe(y)s your girl's age? Also, what made your folks choose Susannah? I might not be able to use that as my mom, Suzanne, has taken to going by Suzanna and that could get a little confusing...

~M: There are more Zoey's in that age range than I'd want, but by no means is it a Jenny. No offense to the Jenny's of the block.

My parents were going to name me Amanda but my brother's name is Andy so they didn't want us to be Mandy and Andy. So they were talking names with the doctor who delivered me, Dr. Clay, and he said his mother's name was Susannah and they liked it so there I am: Susannah Clay. Named after the doctor who delivered me.

Love it. Thanks for the reply!

Why was my boy's name so much easier to decide on than my girl's? I've even thought about Jennifer, ha!

I have three daughters and it has been a few years since I have pushed them in a swing. As the cliche goes, the time passes so quickly. Your daugher is darling!
