Pre-school

And just like that! Everything about her long and loping. Legs and arms, neck and hair. The way she uses her hands now to talk. Sometimes, she said, I like to just stand with my eyes closed, and I smiled, agreed.

Time flies - just like that. It seemed like yesterday that I walked my son to kindergarden - he is now 28 yrs. old. Where did the time go? Enjoy these moments. :)

Aren't those socks the bee's knees, except they're the giraffe's knees? Just really rad knees all around? My mom bought them for Zoey at this store in SF on Hayes called Cotton Sheep.

Ditto to all the above comments. I wish I had family who would buy me giraffe socks. Even now.

Scribe, if I could knit anything but a straight line I would totally knit you a pair of giraffe socks. In fact, I would knit a herd of giraffe socks for anyone who wants them, and then I would buy a container of gold sandals and give them away complete with socks. Then, and only then, would the world be a safe place to live.

Sadly, while Cotton Sheep sells these giraffe socks for kids (plus monsters and other animals), it looked as if they only had sensible socks for adults.

The funny thing is this wasn't even her official first day. Just an orientation. Still, I got choked up a little. It'sgoingsofasttoofast!

Next Friday is her first day. And you know I am going to write about it:)

The fact little girls get to have giraffe knee socks is ridiculously unfair.

How cute are those socks! Love them! I think it's so cool kids come up with their own thoughts and feelings. I love to hear what they're thinking.

I want these for me, all me!!

Time really does go fast..my one and only baby is starting his junior year next week and it's a bit devastating in some ways, a bit wonderful in so many other ways.
