Today we are driving down to San Diego for a friend's wedding, then up to LA to visit my brother. Once in LA, we are taking Zoey to Disneyland whereupon she will quite possibly seek legal emancipation so that she may live in the Princess' castle forever and ever, living happily ever after in a world where pink sparkley bubble baths do not cause vaginitis. Which would totally give me more time to blog when I get back, which is next Thursday.In the meantime, I may shoot off some half-assed posts here and there knowing full well you do not need them. But here's the thing: I need them. I need you. I need your stats, your comments; I need you to pat me on the head and scritch behind my ears the way you do, not too sharp but just right. Which is a whole other rant about blogging, something about that self same tree and the forest and if I do not post do I fall? Another day, my friends. For now I am driving down I-5 on the way to somewhere that is not here.

My day at work is only worth attending if there is a blog post from you for me to read. Yes, I pop back and forth all day - even if I've already read your daily post - just hoping that, by fluke, there will be another! So, because of your holidays, I'm now going to have to call in sick every day for the next week, because otherwise I might just go insane!

SEE...people, like ME, do read your posts everyday, happily waiting on what you choose to talk or not talk about. I, too was surprised how early your post was today. It was like a treat for us Easterners! See, Susannah...you do matter, your words are important, they give food for thought, tit for tat, and not only do we scratch behind your ears ever so gently, but with just the right pressure, you scratch behind ours too. This is a mutual relationship. Even though I will miss you (and I do hope that I survive this - LOL), I wish you and your family a safe, fun, and deliciously wonderful vacation!
Perhaps one little post, while you are lying on the beach in San Diego or rubbing elbows with George Clooney in LA wouldn't hurt now, would it???

I don't understand. You have a laptop. You're traveling with the cutest little girl in the world. Wi-Fi hotspots are plentiful in both San Diego and Anaheim. Where's the problem?
Vacation?? Family?? Fun?? Hey, whose life do you think this is? Don't pretend you don't see us, with our noses all smushed up against the glass each morning, anxiously awaiting your new post. Do you think we ENJOY the weekends, when you blithely go about your life, spending time with family and friends, without even a care for all of us who have to sit here waiting interminably for you to finally realize, "Hey, it's Monday, guess I should toss my minions one of the many jewels I've grown weary of."
No, you go ahead and enjoy your time off, and we'll just... wait, did you say it's going to be a WEEK!?!?!? Forget that. You get your fingers back on that keyboard and give us something to laugh/cry/think about. C'mon. Right now. OK, that's it, I'm holding my breath until you do!

I think I can survive, but lets be real. I check at minimum every 3 days and that is only because I AM REALLY IMPORTANT and have 15 million things to do. So really, I check everyday.
I am totally okay with you vacationing and very much look forward to the posts that occur after your return.
