Breathtaking (Pun Intended)

Sometimes (most times) I cannot get over... I don't even know how to end that sentence. The truth is, most times I cannot fathom (another pun) everything. Which is why this video resonates--the abyss, the jump into, the ├╝ber-music montage exactly as I imagine playing in the background of most my days. (Sans superhero lungs and the balls to even swim over such such a hole.) (Hee hee. I said a hole.)

Anyhoo, here's the backstory: the film features world champion freediver Guillaume Nery diving at Dean's Blue Hole; at 663 feet, it is the deepest blue hole in the world (and quite possibly the worst named underwater sinkhole ever, in this blogger's humble opinion). Filmed by his girlfriend, Julie Gautier, a french champion free diver.

Hole-y shit, you guys. My toes tingle in the deep end of a swimming pool.
Have an awesome weekend.
xo,
S

it is amazing what some people consider fun. Beautiful to watch, though, love that music too.

Oh my GOD. How does he have such lung capacity...at least 4:17 worth, and you know that footage was edited down. I am deathly afraid of falling and can't stand not being able to see what's beneath or around me in the ocean, and somehow this looked, as you said, completely breathtaking.

I feel so... less than.

I dare anyone to watch that and NOT try to hold their breath during it. I had to keep reminding myself to breathe. Beautiful video though. Better them than me.

Hi there,
First time commentor...always wanted to tell you how much there is I can relate to...including a husband who loves the water and used to find ways for us to live on an island.
Anyway, we have been to Dean's Hole. Hubs jumped off of a cliff and into it. I wouldn't even get close to the edge of it --just stayed in the shallow water. It is incredible though, on an island that does not have much, no big hotels, hardly anyone there. Literally no one except for our family was there on that beach in 2001.
I love your blog and I'll be back.
